Departments
The department is the cornerstone of the pedagogical framework. It is the place where the uniqueness of artistic proposals is developed, a space for stimulation and experimentation.
The 17 departments at the school are organized within 17 workshops, which serve as places for practice, exchange, and work for the students enrolled in each department. Continuing education also has a dedicated space related to their practice.
The workshop is a space unique to each department, a place for meetings and exchanges between students and the teaching team of their department. It is also a space for interactions among students. These are spaces for teaching, creation, experimentation, and production that foster both collective and individual dynamics.
In the workshop, students invent creative processes, develop their autonomy and working methods, and learn from the collective dynamics and what happens within it. These are communal spaces where living together is essential for welcoming everyone and all practices.
Students participate in the life of the workshop, guided by qualified teachers who are attentive to the media being practiced. It is also often within the workshop that pedagogical moments of presentations and evaluations take place. These moments are organized collegially, through exchange, to learn from each other's practice, outside of direct judgment.
Each workshop has its own independent teaching organization. Similarly, each workshop is equipped with materials and/or machines specific to the practice of that workshop. From the printing press in Printmaking to the loom in Weaving, and the kiln for clay and ceramics in Sculpture, students learn to master the tools of their medium within their workshop.
