The Young Curators Programme (YCP) is designed for emerging Belgium-based curators. Beyond encouraging the interaction between Dutch and French-speaking professionals, the YCP aims to promote curatorial practice and development, offering an exceptional work and exposure opportunity for young professionals in the frame of the Venice Biennale, a major and prestigious international art event. The six participants selected for the YCP’s 2026 edition will partake in bilingual duos for one of the programme terms offered during the 61st Venice Biennale. They will actively participate in the mediation and the life of IT NEVER SSST by Miet Warlop, a multidisciplinary project at the crossroads of performance, music and visual art, commissioned to represent Belgium in the national pavilion in the Biennale’s Giardini.

Submit your application in a single PDF with the following information:

• CV (max. two pages)
• Motivation letter in English with your views on live art, curating and mediation (max. one page)
• Indication of your availability and prefered term
• For non-Belgian nationals, a certificate from the commune/gemeente stating that you have been living in Flanders, Brussels or Wallonia for at least two years.

The Young Curators Programme s’adresse aux commissaires émergents basés en Belgique. Au-delà de l’encouragement à l’interaction entre professionnels néerlandophones et francophones, le YCP vise à promouvoir la pratique curatoriale et son développement, en offrant une occasion exceptionnelle de travail et de visibilité aux jeunes professionnels dans le cadre de la Biennale de Venise, un événement artistique international majeur et prestigieux.

Les six participant·e·s sélectionné·e·s pour l’édition 2026 du YCP prendront part à des duos bilingues pendant l’une des périodes du programme proposées lors de la 61e Biennale de Venise. Ils et elles participeront activement à la médiation et à la vie de IT NEVER SSST de Miet Warlop, un projet pluridisciplinaire à la croisée de la performance, de la musique et des arts visuels, commandité pour représenter la Belgique dans le pavillon national aux Giardini de la Biennale.

Pour postuler, votre candidature, en un seul PDF, doit comprendre :

• Un CV (maximum deux pages)
   
• Une lettre de motivation en anglais exposant vos points de vue sur les arts vivants, le commissariat et la médiation (maximum une page)
   
• L’indication de vos disponibilités et de la période souhaitée
   
• Pour les ressortissant·e·s non belges : une attestation délivrée par la commune/gemeente confirmant que vous résidez en Flandre, à Bruxelles ou en Wallonie depuis au moins deux ans.
