Krystel KHOURY
Née et a grandi à Beyrouth, Krystel Khoury est dramaturge, pédagogue et chercheuse en danse et arts de spectacle. Ses recherches se combinent autour des pratiques et politiques des corps, des processus chorégraphiques collaboratifs, des questions d’éducation et de pédagogie dans le champ artistique. Danseuse de formation, détient un Master en arts du spectacle de l'Université de Lyon et un doctorat en anthropologie de la danse et dynamiques interculturelles de l'Université d'Auvergne. Elle a contribué à plusieurs ouvrages dont (Les collectifs dans les arts vivants depuis 1980 – édition L’Entretemps ; The Palgrave Handbook of Global Arts Education, Palgrave MacMillan Edition) et revues (Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices - Routledge Edition, Research in Dance Education - Taylor and Francis Edition). Parmi ses dernières contributions : Theatre Against Borders (Arts Mdpi) et Dancing in The Waiting Room : appropriating the impermanence of belonging in a refugee camp (ASA 18, Oxford University). Krystel a collaboré avec de nombreuses organisations culturelles pour concevoir, mettre en oeuvre ou coordonner des initiatives autour du développement professionnel des artistes du ou dans le monde arabe. De 2017 à 2019, elle est invitée à diriger le projet Open Border Ensemble au Münchner Kammerspiele, à Munich. Depuis 2016, Krystel fait partie de l'équipe de l'organisation artistique internationale Mophradat asbl (Bruxelles/Athènes). Elle est professeur titulaire d'EUR-ISAC depuis 2019.
Born and raised in Beirut, Krystel Khoury is a playwright, teacher and researcher in dance and performing arts. Her work, writings and practice is interested in embodied knowledge and body politics, collaborative choreographic processes, arts education, and anthropological theories. Trained as a dancer, she holds a Master's degree in performing arts from the University of Lyon and a PhD in dance anthropology and intercultural dynamics from the University of Auvergne. She has contributed to several books amongst which (Les collectifs dans les arts vivants depuis 1980 - edition L'Entretemps; The Palgrave Handbook of Global Arts Education, Palgrave MacMillan Edition) and journals (Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices - Routledge Edition, Research in Dance Education - Taylor and Francis Edition). Her recent contributions include Theatre Against Borders (Arts Mdpi) and Dancing in The Waiting Room: appropriating the impermanence of belonging in a refugee camp (ASA 18, Oxford University). Krystel has collaborated with numerous cultural organizations to design, implement or coordinate initiatives around the professional development of or artists in the Arab world. From 2017 to 2019, she is invited to direct the Open Border Ensemble project at the Münchner Kammerspiele, Munich. Since 2016, Krystel is part of the team of the international arts organization Mophradat asbl (Brussels/Athens). She is a full professor at EUR-ISAC since 2019.
